Based on the feedback we have received from some of our customers we are going to alter the original offer to include an option for the organization to pay the cost of the text messages.
There will be two options beginning on 1/1/20. There are no changes to your service prior to that date.
Your organization can use a credit card to pre-pay for messages that will be held in your account. You would send messages as you do today. When the account is depleted, you would pre-pay for more messages. This way you only pay for what you need. The cost per message will be 4 cents per message. Pre-paid messages would not expire. If you send a message to 100 people, then the cost would be $4 (100 people X 4 cents)
The receiver of the messages can choose to either receive emails or text messages. If they choose to receive emails, then these are free. If they choose to receive unlimited text messages - then we would charge them $7.30 per year for unlimited messaging from unlimited RainedOut accounts. You would send the messages as you do today. The organization can also pay for unlimited messages at the same rate of $7.30 per person.
If you choose option 1, then option 2 would go away and vice versa.
Due to the cost to us from the carriers, we have to start charging for text messages, but are leaving account creation, sending messages and receiving email messages as free.
